Matt Atchity: Skip This Weekend's Box Office

Posted: Updated:

Looking for a good movie this weekend? If that's the case, Matt Atchity from Rotten Tomatoes says you probably shouldn't check any of this week's new releases.

The big kid on the block is "Jack the Giant Slayer"which is based on the fairy tale "Jack and the Beanstalk." Critics say audiences are better off buying magic beans than tickets to this one.

"21 and Over" is yet another "Hangover" type knockoff. This time centering around a guy turning 21, partying all night, then getting in over his head. Matt says even though it has potential, this one doesn't work for one simple reason.

It should come as no surprise that the one movie not screened for critics was the horror flick "The Last Exorcism 2". The PG-13 sequel comes on the heels of the first one, which was a critical success. With no critic screenings this time around, it's a safe bet this one won't get such praise.

Matt says there is one movie that's worth finding, it's just not on as many screens as the other movies.
