Planning Manager (Full Time)

The Planning manager will research develop and organize future story development for nightly newscasts.  Work on long-range planning for special feature stories, and coordinate technical crews with the Assignment Desk.  Collaborate with news operations at other O&O stations for news feeds and event planning.  Act as a liaison with segment producers for featured news guests.  Work with the managing editor to identify opportunities to aggressively set the market's new agenda.  Coordinates breaking news with web staff to insure accurate and timely response to news through the web and broadcasts.

Bachelors' degree in Journalism, Communications or related field , and five years assignment desk or news planning experience  is required.  Familiarly with New England news and major market news experience is preferred.  Ability to work well under strict deadlines and the ability to work flexible hours and shifts is essential.  Previous managerial experience as well as demonstrated experience working as a collaborative member of the news team preferred.
