Dart seeks help locating alleged sex-abuse victims

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (Associated Press) -

The Cook County Sheriff's office is seeking the public's help in locating possible victims of a Des Plaines man who allegedly sexually abused girls.

Authorities on Feb. 20 charged 50-year-old Pareshkumar Desai with multiple felony counts of sexual assault and sexual abuse. He is being held in lieu of $900,000 bond.

The sheriff's office says a relative of a 9-year-old girl contacted police after the girl revealed Desai had inappropriately touched her.

Authorities say the girl said Desai also touched two 8-year old girls at a gathering in Mount Prospect.

Cook County Sheriff Thomas Dart says detectives believe there may be other victims. Anyone with information about other victims can contact the sheriff's detective unit.
