Suspect arrested for hit-and-run near Fenway

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police arrested a man who reportedly hit a female pedestrian in Boston's South End and made no attempt to stop.

According to police, Everett Strauss hit the pedestrian as she crossed Lansdowne Street around 12:29 a.m. on Sunday. Officers, who were on foot patrol in the area, attempted to stop the suspect and promptly issued a description of Strauss' vehicle over the radio.

Officers on patrol in the area of 1161 Boylston Street saw a car matching the description and pulled the suspect over. Strauss was identified as the driver involved in the accident.

The victim was transported to Beth Israel Hospital for further medical attention.
