WILMINGTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) — An Andover man was killed and two others were injured in a head-on crash on Route 125 in Wilmington Sunday night.

The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Route 125 near the North Reading line.

The Wilmington and Andover fire departments responded and determined the 47-year-old driver of a Toyota Corolla, Roberto Leon, of Andover, was dead at the scene.

The other victims, a 43-year-old father and his 12-year-old son, both of Wilmington, were transported by ambulance to Lawrence General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Preliminary reports indicate that the 2013 Toyota Corolla, crossed the center line into oncoming traffic. The Corolla narrowly missed one other car before colliding head on with a Chevrolet sport utility vehicle.

It is not yet known why the Toyota crossed over the center line.

Route 125 was closed for approximately two and a half hours to allow for rescue operations and investigation.
