(MyFoxBoston.com) – A Massachusetts State Police trooper, currently on injured leave, has been charged with operating under the influence of alcohol after witnesses reportedly saw a pickup truck being operated erratically on Route 28 in Bourne.
Robert Gilmore was arrested around 2 p.m. after locating his gray Toyota Tundra – the vehicle that had been observed operating erratically – at Falmouth Toyota in Bourne. He has been charged with a single count of OUI.
Gilmore, a trooper who was assigned to the Middleborough Barracks, had been placed on injured reserve effective Monday, five days after he reported suffering a knee injury while working at the barracks.
At the time he reported his injury, he was on restricted duty following a previous allegation of a violation of department rules and regulations.
Gilmore will be arraigned Tuesday in Wareham District Court.
