Police: Man knocked to ground, run over by cab

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – A male victim, knocked to the ground by a male suspect, was reportedly then run over and dragged by a taxi in the area of Whiskey's Bar on Boylston Street early Wednesday morning.

Police responded to the area of 885 Boylston Street around 2:04 a.m. for reports of a pedestrian struck by a car.

Witnesses stated that the male suspect was yelling while in the middle of Boylston Street and then turned around and punched the victim in the stomach. The victim fell to the ground.

As the victim lay unconscious in the road, a cab traveling inbound on Boylston Street ran him over and dragged him under the vehicle. The cab driver told police that he did not see the victim in the road and that he did not know he even struck anyone until witnesses told him to stop.

The suspect, an unknown white male who is approximately 5'10" tall and 30-years-old, fled the scene towards Fairfield Street. At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a dark hooded jacket with fur on the hood.

Officers searched the avail, but were unable to locate the suspect.

The victim was transported to the hospital with injuries to his face and lower body. He is expected to survive.
