PHILADELPHIA -

Several people were arrested Thursday night just before the beginning of a School Reform Commission meeting to decide the fate of 29 school buildings.

According to a police spokesperson, 19 adults were arrested for Disorderly Conduct.

Before the meeting, which started at 5:30 p.m., a massive crowd stood outside of district headquarters to protest the vote. Many in the crowd made their way inside before the public meeting and chanted.

BY around 6:30 p.m., video from SkyFOX showed the area outside of district headquarters to have cleared.

Back in December, school district officials unveiled their Facilities Master Plan, aimed at enhancing the district's resources while also meeting the challenges of a budget shortfall.

The district says since then, they have made changes to more than a dozen of their recommendations as a result of community feedback and review.

The new recommendations call for the closure of 15 elementary schools, five middle schools, nine high schools and one lease termination.

District officials say in order to close 29 buildings, they will need to change grade configurations.

It was a gloomy Sunday as the whole area remain socked in with low clouds & fog, drizzle and scattered showers.

The weather remains unsettled through most of the work week. The difference is that it will really warm up -- temperatures soar into the 80s by Tuesday.  That mild and humid air mass will fuel afternoon thunderstorms.

By Thursday a cold front moves by bringing more rain.  It will also bring drier and cooler weather by Friday as we finally clear out.
