Embattled Mass. early education commissioner resigns

Posted: Updated:

(MyFoxBoston.com) – The state's early education commission resigned under controversial circumstances, but her former boss, Gov. Deval Patrick, is defending her.

Sherri Killins stepped down after it was revealed that she was making $200,000 a year while living in New Haven, Conn., and is taking part in a training program to become a superintendent in Ware, all this while her day job and office were based in Boston.

According to the Boston Herald, Killins will serve as a consultant with full salary for the next three months and will be paid unused vacation and sick time.

FOX 25 commentator Jim Polito went right to the governor looking for some answers. Watch the video for more.
