Cops: Conn. teen fled to Va. After house fire

Posted: Updated:

ANDOVER, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut teenager who went missing after his mother was injured in a fire at their home has been arrested in Virginia.

Connecticut state police say 16-year-old James Baver was found Tuesday and will appear in court in Virginia before being extradited back to Connecticut to face charges. Police didn't release the town where Baver was located or the charges he faces.

Authorities responded to a fire at Baver's home in Andover Monday morning. His mother was treated for minor injuries and Baver went missing. School officials later said police were looking for Baver in connection with the fire and a domestic dispute at his home.

Security was increased at RHAM High School Tuesday as officials searched for Baver, who is a junior at the school.
