Mass. high school to hold forum following racially charged graffiti

Posted: Updated:

CONCORD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) –- The discovery of racially charged graffiti inside Concord-Carlisle High School has prompted student and school leaders to host a school-wide conversation on race relations.

The graffiti was discovered by students and reported to administration shortly thereafter. Since then, students have been participating in small group conversations during advisory sessions in order to process the graffiti.

Principal Peter Badalament said in a statement to the entire student body that, "This is not a school community that will ignore racism; we all need to stand up to intolerance."

Principal Badalament hopes the conversations on race relations will build a "stronger culture at the school."

An investigation by both the school and the Concord Police Department is underway.
