BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Boston Mayor Tom Menino and City Councilor Rob Consalvo are denying speculation they have a deal to make the Hyde Park councilor the next mayor.
According to the Boston Herald, there are rumors that Menino will help Consalvo become City Council president. Then, when Menino wins re-election, he won't serve out the full term and Consalvo would become the interim mayor, giving him advantage in an election.
Mayor Menino called the theory "ridiculous" and Consalvo told the Herald while he and Menino are very close, they have never discussed such a scenario.
