Thieves use payloader to steal ATM in Glastonbury

Posted: Updated:

GLASTONBURY, Conn. (AP) — Glastonbury police are asking the public for help in identifying several suspects who stole an ATM machine using a payloader and dump truck last weekend.

Police say the crooks used the payloader to rip the ATM off its foundation and put it in the truck outside the TD Bank on Hebron Avenue on Sunday. They made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and left the payloader at the bank.

The ATM was found smashed, empty and partially buried at the Hartford landfill on Monday. Police say the dump truck was found near the landfill later the same day. Both the payloader and truck were stolen from sites near the bank.

Anyone who saw suspicious activity around the bank or landfill is urged to call Glastonbury police.
