Social media was abuzz over Ryan Gosling sightings in the Motor City this past weekend.

Tweets and Facebook posts mentioned seeing the Hollywood heartthrob at places like Starbucks in Grosse Pointe (see Tweet from @hannahh_eileen below) and Cafe d'Mongo's Speakeasy in Detroit (see pic to the right).

Gosling's was reportedly in town to scout locations for directorial debut "How to Catch a Monster," which is set to shoot in Detroit this May.
