ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia Tech forward Julian Royal has decided to transfer to another school.
Coach Brian Gregory announced Tuesday that Royal, a sophomore, will transfer after spring semester. Gregory says Royal "has done a great job representing the program" on and off the court.
Playing time was limited for the 6-foot-8 Royal this season due in part to the emergence of freshman Robert Carter Jr. as a starter. Royal averaged only 6.6 minutes in 24 games, and he scored only 1.7 points per game. Royal averaged 4.4 points per game as a freshman in the 2011-12 season.
The announcement from Gregory did not say if Royal has decided on a new school.
