'Punxsutawney Phil' Gets Punished By 'Good Day'

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Spring is officially here. The start of spring should make us think of sunny skies and warmer temperatures.

Instead of that in recent days we have had to deal with snow, sleet, rain and cold temperatures. It could even snow on some of us overnight.

So, we are placing blame on our chilly start to spring on one specific rodent, "Punxsutawney Phil." Remember when Phil did not see his shadow? That's supposed to mean an early spring.

Well, that's not exactly how it has gone down, and "Good Day's" is doing something about it.

We decided Phil needed to be punished.

So, we enlisted the help of someone who is familiar with dealing with rodents. Carl Spackler, a.k.a. Bill Murray of "Caddyshack," helped us track down Punxsutawney Phil, and we had the, ahem, groundhog, in our studio Wednesday at 7:02 a.m., as we ticked away the final seconds of winter.
