John Connolly kicks off mayoral campaign with free indie rock show

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – John Connolly is targeting young voters as he kickstarts his mayoral campaign with a free indie rock show.

The Boston Herald reports The Bad Rabbits are playing a free show at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night at the Omni Parker House, where the city councilor will officially begin his mayoral run.

Dorchester rapper Akrobatik, who is a high school friend of Connolly's, is also expected to make an appearance.

Connolly said he respects Mayor Thomas M. Menino, but it's time for a change.

The mayor told VB last week he's not yet decided if he'll run for a sixth term, but he loves being mayor.
