Neighbors in Manayunk and nearby Roxborough are worried. Three times over the weekend robbers armed with tasers attacked residents on the streets, leaving their victims stunned.
"It could take you down," one neighbor told FOX 29.
"You could be out for the count and not able to defend yourself," said teacher Nicole Perri. "It's scary."
Detectives say four taser toting robbers held up one victim in the 100 block of Rector Street across from a church and charter school. They also struck in the 4400 block of Cresson near the Manayunk train station and then a few blocks away in the 4000 block of Mitchell in Roxborough.
"It's unbelievable for somebody just walking home from work or getting done with work, walking to their house and somebody coming up on them," said Jeff Swider, who works in the area.
The latest taser robberies come just a couple of weeks after a 21-year-old man was tased and robbed of his cash and iPhone on his way home from work in Chestnut Hill. It was the second attack there in a month. He told FOX 29 the robbers threatened his life.
"If you say anything we will kill you," he recounted from the attack.
Police are trying to track down surveillance video of the suspects in action, hoping for a break in the case while neighbors work to protect themselves.
"Somebody hitting you with a taser, dropping you to the ground, you see that stuff on video from the cops, tasing people, they fall to the ground, there's nothing you can do about it," Swider added.
Police believe the three taser attacks on Saturday night could be connected to a similar taser robbery near Drexel University on Sunday night. Manayunk business owners also say these taser robberies are clearly not good for business.

Lots of traffic and police activity, police cameras are everywhere. But that didn't stopped this armed robber from calmly walking into a Dunkin Donuts on camera Monday afternoon and sticking the place up.
