(MyFoxBoston.com) – Tragic, sudden, and unheard of, a flight departure sign inside an Alabama airport crashed onto a Kansas family, killing 10-year-old Luke Bresette.
Luke's mother, Heather, and two of his siblings were also hurt in the incident.
Twelve hundred miles away, unsuspecting and again unheard of, phone calls from Alabama to a Massachusetts family who have no connection to the incident other than their names.
"They stated they were calling from a church and said that they were very sorry for my loss. They would like to come and hug my children and do anything they could," Mass. resident Heather Bresette told FOX 25's Nicole Jacobs.
The phone call was odd to say the least, but that was just the beginning. More calls came flooding in, even from attorneys who wished to represent the family in an accident injury lawsuit.
Heather Bresette decided to Google herself and found pictures of her family on vacation, but the pictures were attached to a heartbreaking story that had nothing to do with her family.
The parallels of the two families don't stop with the name Heather Bresette. The Kansas Heather Bresette has a husband named Ryan and the Mass. Heather Bresette has a son named Ryan. Both women have daughters named Anna.
"I started doing more searches on just the images, and the images were coming up on a bunch of different websites. I found about four or five other websites that did have the pictures of me and my children on," Mass. Heather Bresette said.
All of the pictures reportedly came from her Facebook page. She also noticed on the websites that people had been commenting that pictures posted were not of the correct family.
While Facebook at times serves a social purpose connecting users, in this case the connection was different and incorrect.
