SOMERVILLE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Two male suspects are facing several charges for an incident that prompted police to evacuate a Somerville neighborhood and put an area school in lockdown on Monday.
Police responded to 60 Derby Street around 10:30 a.m. for a report of a breaking and entering in progress.
When officers arrived, they saw two suspects fleeing the area and pursued them on foot.
After a brief struggle, the first suspect was apprehended and placed in custody. The second suspect was spotted in the area and chased to 15C Memorial Road.
Residents of 15 Memorial Road were evacuated, and the Healey School and two daycare centers were also put in external lockdown.
During the evacuation, officers spotted a suspect hiding in an apartment. He was placed under arrest without incident.
Two firearms which may be connected to this incident were recovered by police.
Anthony Paulino, 19, is charged with armed home invasion, armed robbery, two counts of receiving stolen property, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without a license, and resisting arrest.
Derrick Paul, 22, is charged with armed home invasion and resisting arrest.
Paulino and Paul will be arraigned Tuesday in Somerville District Court.
