NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Mets pitcher Johan Santana has suffered another tear in his left shoulder capsule and is expected to miss the season, according to an MLB.com report.

Santana missed the entire 2011 season after surgery to repair the same type of injury. He returned in 2012 and tossed the first no-hitter in franchise history on  June 1.

But after the no-no, his pitching suffered, and the team took him off the mound in August.

Surgery to repair the new injury is a "strong possibility," according to the Mets. If he misses the season, he is most likely done with the team.
