Boston officer caught in Lynn prostitution sting

Posted: Updated:

LYNN, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Boston police detective was one of 16 people arrested in a prostitution bust in Lynn.

Lynn Police said that Lysander Wright, 48, of Lynn, solicited an undercover police officer posing as a prostitute to perform a sex act on him.

Police said Wright agreed to pay the undercover officer $20 for the act. Before she got into the car she signaled a takedown team who approached the car, police said.

According to police documents, when officers approached Wright in the car, he told them that he was "on the job" and that he hadn't asked the undercover officer for anything.

Wright was arrested on charges of offering to pay for sex. Officers said he had a .40 cal. 23 Glock handgun in the small of his back.

Police also said that a known prostitute had reported that a man matching Wright's basic description had picked her up, had her perform a sex act on him and then told her to get out of his car before he arrested her.

Boston Police told Fox 25 that Wright joined the department in 1989 and was made a detective in 2011. He has been put on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
