Stray Bullet Rips Through Home Endangering Baby's Play Place

Posted: Updated:
Kensington -

In  a neighborhood already scarred by  deadly crime...a  little 15-month old girl could have been the victim of Kensington's latest violent episode.

"I  heard  the shots like,  bam,  bam! like four," explained the little girl's aunt.

Just before midnight Friday, one of those bullets fractured the front window on the first floor of  Aura Spinel's home.

It's the same window her daughter loves to stare out of for hours.

" I cried last night too much, " Aura said. "When I  come, I gave my baby my heart and

a hug and said are you okay."

Fortunately little Leyra was upstairs sleeping with the rest of her family when the shots rang out  on the 600-block of Wishart.

Aura's also counting her blessings because she was forced to work late and would normally be sitting on the couch watching TV near where the bullet tore through the window.

After ten years of living in Kensington and Friday nights shot through the door, Aura says she's ready to make sure her daughter gets a new window to the world.

"I'm seriously very nervous, said Aura. "I'm very nervous I'm trying to move. "

Police are still searching for the person who opened fire outside Aura's home.
