The video of the actual injury is so graphic that we weren't showing it to you on air this morning.
It was during Sunday night's Louisville-Duke "Elite Eight" matchup when sophomore Louisville guard Kevin Ware tried to block a shot and came down wrong, snapping his right leg.
Ware's leg bent in such an awkward angle that broadcasters stopped showing replays. Video of reaction from players on the court just after it happened revealed that they were horrified.
Louisville's coach says even as Ware was being treated on the court he kept encouraging his teammates.
School officials say Ware's leg was broken in two places. He underwent surgery last night to reset the bones and insert a metal rod. He'll stay in Indianapolis at least until Tuesday.
Ware's team ended up winning, putting them in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's "Final Four."
Family physician Dr. Jen Caudle joined "Good Day" to discuss the leg injury suffered by Ware and what he likely faces to recover.
