Officials say the full closure of M-53 in northern Macomb County begins Tuesday.

MDOT spokesman Rob Morosi says the closure of M-53 between Ebeling and 34 Mile Road begins at 9 a.m. and will last through late August as crews works to rebuild the roadway over the Wilson Drain.

During the closure, motorists will be detoured to McKay Road in both directions. Temporary traffic lights have been installed at both 34 Mile Road and Ebeling Road to ensure motorist safety.
