Estranged husband of Norton town clerk accused of attacking her
NORTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The husband of Norton's town clerk is facing charges amid allegations that he tried to snap her neck.
James Sicard, 44, is accused of wrapping his hands around his wife's neck and violently twisting her head after claiming he was going to perform a relaxation technique on her, reports the Attleboro Sun.
Investigators allege Sicard told one of the couple's four children to say goodbye to their mother prior to performing the maneuver Thursday.
Sicard's lawyer claims the 44-year-old's estranged wife was the aggressor. He claims Danielle Sicard lured his client into their home with the promise of sex before she attacked him.
Danielle reportedly suffered bruises to her neck and face. She was treated at the hospital for her injuries. Her husband claims he suffered lacerations to his arms and chest.
According to the Attleboro Sun, Sicard is a former Army Ranger. He also served more than two decades in the National Guard.
Sicard was held without bail. He is scheduled for an April 18 probable cause hearing.
