Lottery Ticket Worth $2 Million Sold In Lehigh County

OREFIELD, Pa. -

For the second time in two weeks, someone who bought a lottery ticket in Orefield has struck it rich!

A Powerball ticket worth $2 million was purchased at a Hess station on the 3600 block of Route 309 in Lehigh County for Saturday's drawing, the Pennsylvania Lottery announced Monday.

The same store sold a $1 million prize-winning Powerball ticket two weeks before that.

The April 6 winner correctly matched all five white balls, 04-07-08-29-39, but not the red Powerball 24, and added "Power Play," which sets the prize at $2 million, less 25 percent federal withholding.

"Without the Power Play option, the prize amount would have been $1 million," the lottery explained in a news release.

The Hess station gets a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Lottery officials cannot confirm the winner's identity until the prize is claimed and the ticket is validated. Powerball winners in Pennsylvania have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

The lucky holder of that winning ticket should sign the back of it, call the lottery and file a claim at one of the lottery's offices.

The lottery notes that more than 32,600 other Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball tickets won prizes of varying amounts in Saturday's drawing.
