PHILADELPHIA -

A Philadelphia woman has stepped in to take care of a bulldog puppy who was born about 10 weeks ago with severe cleft palate.

Lindsay Condefer, owner of Street Tails Animal Rescue in Philadelphia, says "Lentil" was given up by his breeder because of his condition. So, Condefer took the pup in and became his foster mom.

Because of his condition, Lentil has to eat through a feeding tube every couple of hours.

Lentil has taken the Internet by storm, and even has a popular Facebook page. But he has a long road ahead of him, with multiple surgeries in the future to treat his condition.

Condefer has been taking care of dogs for 12 years, but has never been around a puppy who has touched so many people in such a short amount of time.

The support along with Lentil's tenacity is working.

"He's thriving and he has this amazing will to live," Condefer said.

You can learn more about Lentil on his Facebook page, "My name is Lentil."
