DETROIT, Mich. (AP) -

A Wayne County judge facing allegations of ethics violations is asking the Michigan Supreme Court to reject a six-month suspension recommended by a watchdog agency.

The Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission says Judge Deborah Ross Adams forged her attorney's signature on documents in her divorce case. The agency says she also lied under oath to the commission.

Adams claims her attorney was coerced during the investigation to turn over confidential documents. She says she also never intended to mislead the judge who was handling her divorce.

The Michigan Supreme Court heard arguments Thursday. It's not known when the court will make a decision.
