Mass. college student accused of making threats held on $50K bail

PAXTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- An 18-year-old accused of threatening to shoot up a Paxton, Mass. college was held on $50,000 bail Thursday.

Thomas Frongillo, a criminal justice major at Anna Maria College, is accused of saying he was going to "shoot up" his school while playing a video game, reports the Telegram & Gazette.

The gaming company alerted police in Oxford who then contacted Paxton police about the threat. Paxton investigators notified the teen he was barred from campus Thursday morning. He was later taken into custody at the Paxton Police Department.

Frongillo was arraigned and held on $50,000 bail. According to the Telegram & Gazette, Frongillo is in the police academy and had been offered a part-time position with the Oakham Police Department.

Officials at Anna Maria released a statement to FOX 25 saying they have a zero-tolerance policy for such behavior.

"Anna Maria College takes all threats and other related actions made against its campus community seriously and will not tolerate any behavior of this kind. In addition, our public safety staff, who are members of the Paxton Police Department, have activated appropriate measures they deemed necessary to maintain the safety of all of our students, faculty and staff," says the statement in-part.
