Canadian officials foil alleged terrorist plot

Posted: Updated:

(MyFoxBoston.com) - Officials say there is no link between the arrest of two accused bombers in Toronto and Montreal and the Boston Marathon bombing.

Canadian authorities say two men planned to blow up trains running between Toronto and New York City.

Investigators believe they had support from al-Qaeda elements in Iran. Evidence shows the men had done extensive planning.

Reports in Canada say authorities were told about the plot by a Muslim religious leader in Toronto who had concerns about one of the suspects.

Iran's government is denying that it played any role in the plot.
