BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) The Middlesex District Attorney's Office is building a murder case against 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in the fatal shooting of MIT police officer Sean Collier.
The district attorney's office says they have been gathering evidence in the slaying and plan to charge Tsarnaev in his death. There is no word on what specific charges Tsarnaev could face.
Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev are accused of shooting Collier while he sat in his police cruiser in Cambridge Thursday. Investigators allege the brothers then hijacked a Mercedes SUV and confessed to committing the Boston Marathon bombings to the driver of the vehicle.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, was killed during a shoot out with police in Watertown Thursday night. His younger brother was found hours later hiding inside a boat in the backyard of a Franklin Street home.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is facing federal charges that include using a weapon of mass destruction and destruction of property resulting in death for his role in the bombings that killed three and injured hundreds more near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
