MARIETTA, Ga. -

Looking for something to do this weekend?  The annual Taste of Marietta happens Sunday, but if you're planning to go, you should be prepared for some extra security in light of last week's tragedy in Boston.

One of the new editions to this year's event will be a multi-function vehicle that carries about six people in the back.  It can carry a person on a stretcher if needed.  Organizers also unveiled an electric patrol vehicle that is like a bicycle, but maneuvers easily through crowds and can elevate an officer up above the crowd.

In addition, the Sky Watch surveillance platform features a camera on top that pans and zooms.  It also has a DVR that records the footage.  It stretches up three or four stories high, giving operators a good look at the crowd from above.

Last year, more than 100,000 people attended the Taste of Marietta.  Despite predictions of rain this year, organizers are expecting the largest crowd they've ever had.  There will be extra officers patrolling the streets, and two bomb-sniffing dogs have been borrowed from other jurisdictions for the event.

In years past, only a portion of the square was shut down.  This year, organizers will be closing down the entire square, along with many of the side streets that surround it.

The Taste of Marietta happens Sunday, April 28, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Historic Marietta Square.  Admission is free.  For more details, click here for a link to their website.
