Police are looking for some smash and grab burglars they believe targeted two southwest Atlanta businesses overnight.
Surveillance video from the attempted theft at Master Beauty Supply on Headland Drive shows a van backing into a door at the store, and then the suspects appeared to panic. With the alarms sounding, they took off chasing after a black car that was supposed to be the getaway car.
"Frustrating, because we worked hard. It's just annoying to have to come here and see stuff like this. I don't understand why people can't get a job like we do and work for what we have," said store employee Dallas Dejesus.
It's not the first time the store has been hit by smash and grabbers. This time they did not steal the pricey hair extensions they targeted. They left behind the structural damage, and the owner is tired of to repair the damage.
"I believe it's just young, young people with no respect for anyone. No respect for the business, no respect for the customers, and no respect for themselves," said customer Tasonie Brooks.
Atlanta police are trying to figure out if the men who tried to break in to the beauty supply store are the same that threw a rock to break the window at West End Pharmacy Food Mart on Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard, and steal prescription drugs.
The dark getaway car descriptions were similar in both cases, and detectives say they are looking for a dark colored Dodge, possibly an Intrepid.
