A woman suffered bruises and a shoulder injury after a man attacked and robbed her at a Fayette County department store over the weekend, the victim's husband said.
Don Arrington's wife was shopping at the Kohl's store in the Fayette Pavilion shopping center Saturday morning when a man grabbed her from behind, pushed her down and stole her purse.
"She is not doing well. The bruises she has on her arms, the pain in her hip and shoulder is not good. But it's really the emotional hurt inside that has really taken a toll on her," he said.
The husband said that the attack has made them more wary.
"You learn that you are never safe. You learn that when you go shopping or you go anywhere, better to have somebody with you and better to be on the lookout because you never know when this is going to happen to you," said Don Arrington.
Police have video of their suspect as he stalked women in the Kohl's store. Police say he spent some time trying to pick a victim.
"Any robber is heinous, but this one is even more so because of the fact that he threw her on the ground and injured her during the robbery," said Lt. Mike Whitlow of the Fayetteville Police Department.
Police are trying to identify the man. He could be in his late teens.
Authorities learned on Wednesday that the suspect took the stolen credit cards to Jonesboro to three different gas stations, where he charged friends $15 to fill up their gas tanks. Authorities said that they will charge those who took the stolen cards.
"You can tell from the video that they knew that something was wrong, and we will charge them just as we would charge the person who stole the credit cards with financial credit card transaction fraud and we will charge them here in Fayetteville with that," Whitlow said.
Police are reviewing surveillance footage from the gas station.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Fayette County Police Department.
