New iTunes app tracks first lady`s fashion picks

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Want to copy First Lady Michelle Obama's fashion? There's an app for that.

"Michelle's Style List" was created by Helen Barclay in the U.K. who Fox 32's Tisha Lewis interviewed via Skype.

For 99-cents, Michelle's Style List, promises instant updates on the first lady's outfits, boasting lists of her clothes and accessories she wears throughout the year.

"I think all women love fashion and love to look elegant and that's what she does so yes, it's an obsession of sorts but it's definitely a healthy one, it's not a bad thing to like nice clothes," said Barclay.

From her high fashion, to her dressed down cardigans and her signature sleeveless look, the first lady's fashion has struck a cord with women across the globe and in President Barack Obama's hometown.

But what about the app?

"Yes, I'd be interested," said Chicagoan Cindy Starry.

"I don't know that I would necessarily go out and rush to buy it but it's interesting to know that those looks can be achieved on a normal budget... sometimes," said Ebonne Just.

Fashion icon Barbara Bates told Fox 32 News how women can get Mrs. Obama's look in Chicago.

"I can fit them for it. That look for me is like a look that I've lived before, it's a very 50's look when you talk about the fitted bodice and the full dresses," said Bates, a fashion designer and owner of Barbara Bates Designs.

28 year old Barclay hopes the buzz surrounding her new app will make its way to the White House.

"I haven't heard anything yet, I would absolutely love to hear something! I hope she likes it and that's all I can hope for really," said Barclay.

Helen Barclays says she had the idea last year but was waiting for the outcome of the presidential election. Michelle's Style List went live on Apple's app store on April 6.
