STURBRIDG, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A traffic stop conducted in Sturbridge on Friday led to the arrest of three men and a seizure of drugs and cash.
A Mass. State Police trooper stopped a car with New York plates at about 1:30 p.m. for a lane violation on Route 84.
During the initial encounter with the driver, 22-year-old Juan Gabriel Laboy-Rodriguez, of Philadelphia, the trooper made several observations and called for the State Police K-9 Section.
As a result of further investigation, the trooper arrested the driver and the two passengers of the vehicle for narcotics violations. Inside the car, troopers found and seized 220 pills of Oxycodone and $37,000.
The two passengers were identified as 21-year-old Michael Gonzalez and 26-year-old Hector A. Guilamo. Both men are from Bronx, N.Y. and have been charged with trafficking a class B substance.
Laboy-Rodriguez has also been charged with trafficking a Class B substance, as well as a left lane violation.
During booking, it was discovered that Laboy-Rodriguez and Gonzalez were wanted by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Each of the men will appear in the Dudley District court.
