3 injured in West Englewood shooting overnight

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Three men were shot in the West Englewood neighborhood early Monday.

The three men were in the 1300 block of West 73rd Street when they were shot about 12:40 a.m., said police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

At the time, the men were walking down the sidewalk when they "heard shots" and then "felt pain," Alfaro said the men told police.

One of the men, age 23, was taken in serious condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County with a gunshot wound to the back, police said.

The other two men -- ages 31 and 22 -- were shot in the legs and taken to separate area hospitals in "stable" condition, police said.

No one was in custody as Area South detectives investigated early Monday.
