NH man blames alleged marijuana growing operation on son, 13

EAST KINGSTON, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A New Hampshire man and his fiance reportedly told police that marijuana plants found inside their home were grown by his teenage son.

Police claim Ikie Davis, a Planning Board member in East Kingston, and his fiance, Kristen McManus, told police that Davis' son was responsible for marijuana plants seized during a search Wednesday, reports the Union Leader.

Investigators say prior to blaming the growing operation on Davis' son, McManus said her fiance was not dealing the drugs and that he planned to apply for a medical marijuana dispensary permit. She also reportedly said Davis was "experimenting" to see if the seeds would grow. After being told the Granite State does not have dispensary permits, she also blamed his son.

Davis was arraigned Thursday on charges that include manufacturing a controlled drug, intent to distribute, and endangering the welfare of a child.

McManus, who is accused of allowing Davis to grow the illegal plants in a home she was renting, is facing criminal liability for conduct for another and endangering the welfare of a child charges.
