Visitation begins for fallen Wayne-Westland firefighter

WAYNE, Mich. (WJBK) -

Visitation began Saturday for Brian Woehlke, the 29-year-old Wayne-Westland firefighter killed while battling a blaze at a Westland strip mall. He died from smoke inhalation. His body was found in a burned out section of the building where the roof collapsed.

Visitation continues Sunday at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 34567 Michigan Ave. in Wayne. A funeral mass will take place at 11 a.m. Monday at Divine Child Catholic Church, 1055 N. Silvery Lane in Dearborn. A formal firefighter procession to St. Hedwigs Cemetery, 23755 Military in Dearborn Heights will follow.

Contributions to the Brian Woehlke Charity can be mailed to the Westland Fire Fighters Charity, P.O. Box 851320, Westland, MI 48185 or delivered to any of the five Wayne-Westland fire stations.
