QUINCY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – MBTA transit police said a sandwich shop employee was assaulted by a customer for reportedly putting too many pickles on a sandwich.
Transit police said the incident happened on May 11 at about 2 p.m. at Quincy Center Station.
According to a police report, the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog's employee was preparing a steak and cheese sub when a customer shouted that she was putting "too much (expletive)" on the sandwich.
Police said the customer, identified as 49-year-old Tina Drouin, of Quincy, demanded a refund and then punched the employee in the face. Police said Drouin then shoved two large pickle jars at the employee, knocking her to the ground.
According to police, Drouin attempted to flee the station and was caught by the employee on Hancock Street. Police said the employee held Drouin down until officers arrived.
Drouin told police the incident began over "too many pickles." She was charged with assault.
