Nashua man accused of assaulting woman with sunscreen in road rage incident

Posted: Updated:

MERRIMACK, NH (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A 52-year-old New Hampshire man is facing charges after an alleged road rage incident during which he sprayed sunscreen on another driver.

Merrimack police say a woman blew her horn at the driver, who police identify as William Farrell Jr., in front of her while stopped at a traffic light in Nashua on May 3 because the light had turned from red to green. The woman claims Farrell, a Nashua resident, then began slamming on his brakes while they drove into Merrimack.

The incident escalated at the intersection of Rt. 101-A and Continental Blvd. when both drivers had to stop at another traffic light. The woman claims Farrell got out of his car and squirted a brownish substance onto her car and into her open driver's side window. She says the substance, which investigators identify as sunscreen, hit her in the face and hair.

After the incident, Farrell pulled into a nearby parking lot and the woman called 911.

Farrell turned himself into police on Wednesday. He was released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail. Farrell is scheduled to appear in court on June 4.
