Black Bear Climbs Resident’s Tree Over Weekend

Posted: Updated:

Mike Kersten and his wife Lisa of Croydon, Lower Bucks County opened their front door over the weekend only to find police telling them to stay inside.

A large black bear was spotted climbing one of their trees in the front yard.  It was the infamous black bear spotted all over Lower Bucks during the last few days.

"It was just like a loud crash," he said of the sound he heard before realizing the bear was outside.

He said it was climbing through several branches, even knocking part of the tree down.

Someone shot video of the bear as it climbed down and walked across the grass.

Witnesses say it even walked the streets of the neighborhood.

The PA Game Commission is looking into the latest sighting and has set a trap in Middletown Township.  They are trying to lure the two to three-year-old with the scents from bacon and donuts planted in the trap.

The bear is all the talk of Lower Bucks County with residents recently seeing it in places like Hulmeville and Bristol Township.

The Game Commission believes the bear either came from Upper Bucks County or North Jersey.

Video games may be pure fantasy, but a violent action-adventure game called "Watch Dogs" has ignited a very real debate in one South Jersey community. Watch Dog allows players to adopt the persona of a James Bond-like computer hacker, chasing an evil mastermind. People say it's chock-full of foul language, sex and violence, features dark and foreboding backdrops. The latest version, which is due out this fall may be set in Camden.
