BOSTON (AP) — Two Boston men have been convicted of what prosecutors called the "cruel, callous" slayings of a city man and his girlfriend during an armed robbery.
Michael Corbin and Earl Fulgiam, both of the city's Mattapan section, were convicted Monday of first-degree murder for the July 2011 slayings of Kevin Thomas Jr. and Billie Marie Kee.
District Attorney Daniel Conley said the defendants bound, then repeatedly stabbed and shot the victims in their Hyde Park apartment "in a manner far beyond what was necessary to take their lives."
The defendants targeted the apartment because they thought Thomas kept large amounts of cash.
They are scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday.
Corbin and Fulgiam, both with extensive criminal records, were tied to the crime scene through fingerprints found at the scene.
