Two-alarm fire scorches downtown Atlanta transmission shop

ATLANTA -

Atlanta fire crews battled a huge, two-alarm blaze at an automotive business downtown on Wednesday morning.  Authorities say the fire sparked at United Transmission Service, which is located at 350 Marietta Street NW.   That's very close to the Georgia Aquarium. 

No injuries were reported, and it's not yet clear what started the fire.

FOX 5's Marc Teichner says wood, tires and barrels filled with flammable cleaning solvents inside the business fueled the fire and caused problems for firefighters.  By 9 a.m., the fire was under control.  

Marietta Street is closed in the area as a result of the blaze, and will likely remain closed for several hours. 

Workers at the scene told FOX 5 the building has been there for about 80 years.  According to their website, United Transmission has been a member of the Better Business Bureau since 1981.
