Will Bryzgalov Be Back Between The Pipes For Flyers?

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

There has been a question the entire offseason for the Flyers on whether goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov will be back next season.

FOX 29's Howard Eskin got an answer to that question Wednesday from Flyers President Peter Luukko.

Recently, "Bryz" has been critical of Philadelphia, and criticized some of the people for not working.

But that's not a problem for Luukko.

"What a player says or does personally is really up to that player," Luukko told Eskin. "What's important is really how (General Manager) Paul (Holmgren) feels about a player and the coaches. That's really, I think, what matters to myself and Ed Snider. "

"And Bryzgalov, obviously in the thinking right now, he'll be back next year?" Eskin asked.

"Yeah," Luukko said. "I mean, he's been our goalie. You know, we dug ourselves a hole early, and it wasn't Bryz who dug the hole. He was a part of a team that didn't perform well so, you know, we'll let it go."
