An Edison, N.J., police officer was arrested and accused of setting fire to the home of a police captain in his department, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.

Officer Michael A. Dotro, 35, a nine-year veteran of the force, firebombing the home of Capt. Mark Anderko in Monroe Township on May 20, 2013, authorities said.

Firefighters extinguished the flames in less than 15 minutes.

Anderko, his wife, two children, and 92-year-old mother were inside the house at the time of the fire, the Prosecutor's Office said, but they were not hurt.

Authorities charged Dotro with five counts of attempted murder and one count of aggravated arson.

A judge set bail at $5 million and said the Dotro must post the full amount before he can be released, authorities said.
