One Fund concert stream problems due to high demand

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON ( – Livestreaming issues with Thursday's One Fund benefit concert at the TD Garden were, apparently, due to overwhelming demand.

Concert promoter Live Nation said that nearly a half million people tried to log on to the livestream when the concert began, prompting bandwidth issues.

The concert featured performances by Aerosmith, New Kids on the Block, Jason Aldean and Jimmy Buffett, among others. Tickets sold out within minutes of going on sale in early May.

"The complications were due to the absolutely incredible demand," said Live Nation.

Users experienced choppy, slow and sometimes no video throughout the first few hours of performances Thursday night prompting a social media firestorm.

"There is no reason or excuse in the world that will make this okay!!!" said one FOX 25 Facebook fan.

"Major FAIL they should have expected worldwide traffic on their server," said another.

Organizers said they were able to fix the livestream for the last few performances.  Live Nation encouraged supporters to continue to send donations to the One Fund.
