Bruins Shutout Penguins to take Game 1 of Eastern Conference Finals
PITTSBURGH (MyFoxBoston.com) - David Krejci scored two goals and Tuukka Rask notched his first career playoff shutout as the Bruins beat the Penguins 3-0 in game one of the Eastern Conference Finals to take a 1-0 series lead.
It was an impressive showing by the Bruins on the road, who jumped out to a first period lead on David Krejci's slapshot from the slot.
Krejci struck again in the third when Nathan Horton's hustle along the boards forced a turnover and led to the insurance goal. Horton followed that with a right-place-right-time rebound goal to ice it.
Tuukka Rask turned away all shots and got the help of his goal posts on a few occasions. He made 29 saves on the night for the shutout.
Game two is Monday night in Pittsburgh before the series shifts back to Boston for games three and four.
