WELLESLEY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A 10-year-old boy was pulled out of Morses Pond in Wellesley Saturday night after he was reported missing earlier in the day.

Alexander Glennon, of Manchester, N.H., and his family were visiting friends in Wellesley when he went missing at about 5:57 p.m., police said.

Upon arrival, authorities joined recreation department staff which had already enacted their emergency action plan.

Alexander's family told police they searched the beach, walking paths, and surrounding wooded areas, but could not find the boy.

Wellesley Fire Department and Natick Fire Department personnel expanded the ongoing search efforts in the pond and found Alexander in the water approximately 30 feet from the shore line.

Crews administered CPR and transported him to Newton Wellesley Hospital; however, they were not able to revive the boy.

According to police, lifeguards were on duty when Alexander was reported missing.

Morses Pond will be closed June 2.

The investigation is ongoing.
